OLDIE BUT GOODIE:THE MAKING OF DAMAGED

Okay, so I know a lot of you may have seen these already, but for those of you who haven’t, here’s a sneak peak inside the studio the day we recorded “Damaged” for Danity Kane. The session took place at Circle House Studios in Miami and approximately lasted 14 hours, but well worth it.  It was a little different than our usual sessions being the fact that there were tons of lights and cameras in our face for MTV to film The Making of the Band. Also, the girls were running back and forth to the back studio to record another song, so there was barely any moments when every member was in the room at the same time.  There has been a lot of folks asking us who was the coolest out of all the girls and what not, but I gotta say that they were all equally cool in their own way.

Turn that page to see more…..During the trip we were in the studio most of the time, so we didn’t get much time to do anything else.  When we first landed, we checked into our hotel which was pretty dope cause they had fresh chocolate chip cookies for us each time we arrived. Our room was a super suite with a kitchen and separate room, basically like an apartment.  And the views were amazing….

As night came around we got hungry, so we went to Gloria Estefan’s restaurant called Lario’s for some authentic Cuban Cuisine. It was not bad, but I honestly think Versailles here out in LA is better…just my opinion.

After dinner it was time to let loose for a bit, since we didn’t have to go to the studio until the next day, soooo….we went to Wet Willies.  For those of you who don’t know about Wet Willies, it is a bar located on Ocean Drive that serves some of the craziest drinks.   For example, the Call-a-Cab and the Shock Treatment, both in which the names are self explanatory.

Feelin good, feelin great…we called it a night, since we had a big day ahead of us starting early.

Next day, we arrived at the studio early around 11am to set up our files and get the session ready for the girls.

To kill some time we decided to shoot some pool….

Circle House Studios is dope because it literally is a house that was turned into a full out studio.

Well, all that work paid off as the ending result was “Damaged”!!! The song did well peaking at 10 on the Hot 100 and 5 on Pop 100 Billboard charts.
