On this special edition of Stereotypes TV, we bring you in to get a sneak peak of a session we had with SRC recording artist Melanie Fiona. Currently she has the single on the radio “Give it to me Right” which is super dope!!! The song we were working on is called “Johnny” formerly called “Tony” produced by Stereotypes and Co-written with Bruno Mars.

Although, I can’t let you hear the full song yet, here is a short snippet during the session. Turn that page to see the episode….

STEREOTYPES TV: PUSH UP PAYMENTS PART II

We’ve got an on-going feud here at Mason Sound Studios. About a week ago we posted a blog on push up payments featuring Sterling Simms. This week we got the homies and neighbors Da Internz and Oak. So RayRo and Ko-sine (Da Internz) made a little wager. The deal was Ko-sine had to hit a jump shot behind the 3 point line. If he missed, 50 push ups go to RayRo, to be used at any given time.

STEREOTYPES TV:OFF THE WALL EDITION

Last week I posted a blog about HORSE.  If you missed it, definitely go check it out before watching this episode of Stereotypes TV.  While we were working on some tracks for Snoop, we decided to clear our minds real quick by shooting some hoops.  This is somewhat of an everyday ritual we do, so over the course of time we got pretty nice with it.  It started off with Jerm Beats taking a crazy shot. Then I said if he could make it, I had to be able to and of course RayRo could not resist a try at it…you have to watch the episode to see the results of all these shots…. In the past blog, I said I would’nt challenge the guy in the video, but after today I would put my money on any of the Stereotypes in a game of HORSE!!!! Who wants some???? hahahaha….Anyways, here’s the newest episode of Stereotypes TV…Make sure you watch in HD….

YouTube Preview Image

Does anyone want to challenge us???

I know what you might be thinking, but these shots were all legitimately made!!!

STEREOTYPEST TV:PUSH UP PAYMENTS

The other day we had a session with Def Jam Recording artist Sterling Simms.  The ironic history behind him is that RayRo was the one who originally signed him back when he was an A&R at IDJ in New York.  So we have all known Sterling for a minute already making it a very easy and comfortable session.  During a break, RayRo and Sterling decided to make a little wager on the Lakers vs. Rockets game 6, but instead of money they bet push-ups.  Now I know you’re thinking whats so dope about that.  Well, these aren’t regular push-ups, these are On-Site Push-ups!!! For example, the bet was for 100 push-ups, but instead of having to do all 100 right then and there, they are payable upon request of the winner.  Let me explain….RayRo picked the Lakers and Sterling had the Rockets.  In Game 6 the Rockets won, so RayRo owed Sterling 100 on-site push-ups….here’s how it went…

STEREOTYPES TV:BMI AWARDS

So this is the first time that we attended the BMI Pop Awards.  We have been to the BMI Urban Awards in the past, but getting to go the POP one is hot because it means that you are being recognized for making Top 40 music, and that is exactly what we want to be known for. Not only did we attend, but RayRo won an award for Best Pop Song “Damaged“.  Some of y’all may be wondering why me and Jerm Beats didn’t receive one. Well the reason is because we are not on BMI, we are both ASCAP.  If you guys don’t know what BMI and ASCAP are, click on the links I provided and they will give you an explanation on performance societies. Either way, it was a good night and great to see our partner accept an award…..hopefully the first of many many more. There were a lot of folks in the house such as Taylor Swift, Colbie Callait, Maroon 5, Jordan Sparks, Anthony Hamilton, Chris Daughtry and many more.
